LAPPEENRANTA

Lappeenranta is a city which is situated in South-Eastern Finland, about 30 kilometres from the Russian border.





The monument to the Whites (or the White Finns) fallen in Finnish Civil War (1918). Located in The Central Park (Keskuspuisto), near the Valtakatu street.






The following are photos from the Soldiers’ Cemetary (Sankarihautausmaa), which is the second largest in Finland, with 2068 soldiers killed in the Winter War and Continuation War buried in the soil of the graveyard. It is situated in the Central Park too, next to Lappee Maria Church.

The monument to "Lotta Svärd" - a Finnish voluntary auxiliary paramilitary organisation for women. Located Kirkkokatu 6, at the bottom of the garden, opposite the former civil guard house.
